"The club was not open yet, but the band was setting up. The door opened and the great Benny Golson walked in. With a very serious look on his face, he approached us to rehearse, placed his sax case on stage, opened it and pulled out a notepad and pen and asked the band: "Do you know Whisper Not?"...We replied; "Yes". "Along Came Betty?"..."Yes". "Killer Joe?"...again, "Yes". He then gave us the sweetest smile, laughed, and said; "Okay, rehearsal is over".
