Some information about piano lessons provided below, update 2020 - 2024. My live performances are listed (above). I charge more obviously for house calls, but I'd recommend embracing technology; most of my students study with me remotely, and, it is so universally safe for immunocompromised. Additionally, students in multiple time zones easily study with me. In fact, depending on the time zone, sometimes scheduling lessons is easier. (Students in Japan, U.K. and Las Vegas study with me). If you're thinking Las Vegas is in the same time zone as Portland, you're correct - there's just 970 miles between the two cities - another advantage to remote study. A few more details about coaching music may be found below.

Now scheduling video piano lessons: Zoom and Skype.

Safe, efficient, and world-wide (pending time-zones). Read more below.
Just an album recorded in 1959. It still sells 5000 copies a day.

NOW RESERVING PRIVATE PIANO LESSON TIMES: To reserve a time for your weekly lessons, message me through the following link and please include the phrase you see in colorful font in the subject line of your email inquiry; http://tonypacini.com/contact.html

Ever since March of 2020 I have found myself with more available lesson times for intermediate, and advanced piano lessons. The additional times available for ongoing weekly lessons are now possible due to my performing schedule containing less dates, for now. As we "ebb and flow" living with the new normal of pandemic life, along with it's ripple effects, from economic to public health, obviously this has the potential to affect all or anyone of us with surprises. That said, the great lesson Mother Nature teaches us is that of addaption, not neccessarily one of the survival of the fittest, for it is adaption which is so obvious in Her giving of life. Nonetheless, less performing affords me more time to teach. Lessons are currently conducted on Skype and Zoom, and I use a "share screen" mode with a stylus to mark existing music and method books that are converted to PDF. I also use a PDF of music manuscript to personalize additional materials for the student on the spot when needed.

I have taught all ages and levels of piano, jazz, classical, advanced theory, composition, improv, and specific piano techniques. An example in detail is as follows:

If you already know these things you have nothing to worry about in your musical development. If some of it seems unfamiliar to you, perhaps I could coach you. Being more of a "musical coach", I get to see things you may not (your technique, the way you learn, your musical awareness, blind spots so to speak). Online courses and method books can be generalized, or "one size fits all" kind of things that don't cater to your strengths and weaknesses, which is what a real good teacher ("coach") one on one can do for you by personalizing learning. That's a very important thing to consider. It's also why private (one on one) music lessons have been around for centuries. Some teachers "get results", and some "just fiddle around". I take pride in finding a balance of making music something to constantly learn, while enjoying too - remember, I think of myself more like a "musical coach". If for example you sign up for track and field, you will win a few, lose a few, but ultimately build a better you whilst growing, training, and experiencing. Similarly, if you don't practice one week, we'll just practice together the following week, and you'll stay in shape. I have students from novice to professional, child to retired professor, and I have taught for 30 years, performed my entire life, and still refine, study, and manipulate my own musical essence into perfection all these years later. Don't hesitate, contact me: http://tonypacini.com/contact.html Remember to use the proper subject line statement when emailing me. Thank you.

Warmly,
~Tony Pacini
